Long thought to be a shot from Olympus Mons, Mars' tallest mountain, it actually turned out to be Ascraeus Mons, the 18 kilometer second tallest mountain on the Red Planet.

The shot was taken on 27 November 1971 by the NASA Mariner 9 from a height of 1,500 kilometer. The rest of Mars' surface isn't visible because of the dust storms that were raging at the time.

These matte, museum-quality posters are printed on durable, archival paper.
